Kipahulu (Pools of Oheo)
The Pools of Oheo are part of Haleakala National Park. This stunning series of waterfalls cascade into each other, forming terraced pools. Follow the Kuloa Point Trail (0.8 km) from the visitor center to the lower water pools.
Makena Beach State Park – The Most Beautiful Beaches
On the southern coast of Maui lie the island's best beaches. The tropical gems Big Beach and Little Beach are located within Makena Beach State Park. The golden sand beach of Big Beach is nestled between two black volcanic land tongues and is flanked by palm trees. With a length of 1 kilometer and a width of 19 meters, the beach lives up to its name. This is the calmest beach in Makena Beach State Park.
You can reach Little Beach via a walking trail heading north. The beaches are separated by a hill called 'Puu Olai'; a hill formed by a lava flow and an earthquake in 1790. Off the coast lies Malu'aka Beach, also known as Turtle Beach. Here, you can enjoy fantastic snorkeling and kayaking, and with a bit of luck, spot green sea turtles.
Relax and soak up the sun on the famous Kaanapali Beach. This stunning beach is known for its white sand, crystal-clear waters, and excellent snorkeling opportunities. Dive into the underwater world and admire colorful coral reefs and tropical fish. The beach is also featured on many lists of the world's most beautiful beaches.
Lao Valley State Park
