For travel to French Polynesia, no vaccinations are officially required. However, the following vaccinations are highly recommended: DTP, Hepatitis A and B

The sun in French Polynesia is much stronger than in the Netherlands. We recommend taking it easy with sun exposure at first and avoiding the hottest hours of the day. It is important to generously apply sunscreen with a high SPF.
In the tropical heat, you lose a lot of fluids. A deficiency in fluids can lead to severe headaches. We advise drinking plenty of water and taking breaks from the sun regularly. Pay special attention to children, as their skin is still very sensitive. Don't forget to bring sunglasses, a hat, or a cap.
Drinking tap water is not recommended; bottled mineral water is available everywhere.

The climate on the islands varies from subtropical to tropical, depending on which island group and atoll you are on, as well as the size of the island. French Polynesia can be visited year-round due to its pleasant and sunny climate.
From November to April, it can become very warm and rainy, while May through October are generally cooler and drier. This makes this period the better time for travel. Precipitation usually consists of heavy tropical, short showers. Also, be aware of the trade winds that are present throughout the year but are strongest during the winter months.
