About The Sandpiper
The Sandpiper unquestionably ranks among the most awarded luxury hotels in Barbados. The hotel is nestled in lush tropical gardens, directly on a wide bay on the west coast, where the beach merges into a turquoise lagoon. Here, you stay in a charming, boutique, and stylish environment, where attention to detail and impeccable personal service set the tone.
As a smaller and more contemporary sister of the renowned Coral Reef Club, The Sandpiper has been fully modernized by the younger generation of the British O’Hara family. The intimate character blends seamlessly with modern elegance and a relaxed atmosphere, allowing you to completely unwind during your well-deserved holiday.
In addition to two swimming pools, the hotel features a stylish restaurant with an innovative menu and a modern beach bar open all day. With the free shuttle, you can reach the sister hotel Coral Reef Club within two minutes, where you can also enjoy additional facilities. Please note: The Sandpiper is closed annually from mid-August to early October for maintenance.

What you can expect:

- Small-scale and intimate hotel, with personalized service and attention to detail

Hotel Information
Accommodation
The Garden View rooms are fresh and modernly decorated with light tones, weathered wood, and subtle Caribbean accents. You can choose between a king-size bed or two single beds, and a balcony or patio overlooking the garden, the pool, or partially the sea.
The One Bedroom Suites exude a warmer atmosphere thanks to the use of thatch, bamboo, and natural stone. These feature a separate living room with a sofa bed, a bathroom with a bathtub, and a balcony or patio with views of the gardens or the pool. The Oceanfront One Bedroom Suites are located directly on the sea and have a light, beach-inspired look with French doors to enjoy the cooling sea breeze.
For families, there are spacious Two Bedroom Suites, with two bedrooms, a living room with a sofa bed, a kitchen, and a large balcony or patio. Standout options include the exclusive Tree Top Suites with panoramic views and a private plunge pool. The Curlew Suite has a balcony that appears to float above the beach, offering breathtaking views over the sea. The Beach House Suites are situated directly on the beach, featuring a modern, colorful interior and direct access to the sand.
Restaurants
In The Restaurant, you will enjoy eclectic dishes with a Caribbean twist, in an elegant open setting. The menu changes five times a week and is led by Chef Andrew Jean, who is known for his creative approach and the use of the finest ingredients. Dress code applies here: elegant casual and no shorts after 7:00 PM.
At Harold’s, you can dine casually all day long, whether for lunch, sunset cocktails, or a relaxed dinner in a modern beach club setting, right by the sea.
Swimming pool
The hotel features a mosaic-covered swimming pool that is open all day, and an 18-meter lap pool. For tranquility, children under twelve are not allowed here between 09:00 and 13:00.
Spa & Wellness
Although The Sandpiper does not have its own spa, you can enjoy the extensive facilities at Coral Reef Club. Here, you will find treatment rooms in a colonial building amidst tropical gardens, a relaxation area, hydromassage bath, Crystal steam room, and Experience shower. There is also a salon for mani- and pedicures. The Sandpiper itself features a modern fitness center.
Activities
During your stay, you can enjoy free non-motorized water sports such as snorkeling, kayaking, hobie cat sailing, and paddleboarding. For motorized water sports like waterskiing or wakeboarding, you may use the hotel's speedboat. Diving is also an option, with several shipwrecks in the area. The dive school is located at Coral Reef Club.
Additionally, there are tennis courts, and two golf courses are nearby. Next to the hotel, you will find the Sea Turtle Project, which you can visit. You can also participate in a guided walk through the tropical gardens.
Child-friendly
Children are welcome, but certain restrictions apply. Children under five years old are not allowed in The Restaurant or the lounge after 7:00 PM, and the long-distance swimming pool has limited access during the morning hours. There are special meals available for children, and during the summer, activities such as sailing trips and swimming lessons are organized.
Sustainability
The Sandpiper, like its sister hotel, is continually committed to the sustainable preservation of the beautiful surroundings where the hotel is located.
Some examples include:
• Energy-efficient lighting and water conservation
• Waste separation and minimization of plastic use
• Local sourcing of products and support for local communities
• Reforestation and maintenance of gardens with native flora
• Affiliated with the Sea Turtle Project
