Day by day

Day 1: Arrival in Iceland & exploration of the Reykjanes Peninsula

After arriving at Keflavík International Airport, you will be welcomed by your private guide or receive your rental car. If the arrival time permits, you can explore the remarkable Reykjanes Peninsula: admire the bubbling mud pools of Gunnuhver, the bird cliffs of Reykjanesvík, the natural lava whirlpool Brimketill, and the colorful geothermal field of Krýsuvík.

Then, you will continue to the South Coast, where you will stay at the elegant Skálakot Manor Hotel.

Overnight: Skálakot Manor Hotel – South Coast

 

Day 2: Waterfalls and black beaches on the South Coast

Today you will discover the highlights of the South Coast. Take a walk behind the waterfall of the iconic Seljalandsfoss and explore the hidden waterfall Gljúfrabúi in a narrow canyon. Visit the impressive Skógafoss and the nearby Skógar Museum, where Iceland's past comes to life.

In the afternoon, you will continue to the rugged black beach of Reynisfjara, famous for its basalt columns, and the bird cliffs of Dyrhólaey, where puffins nest in the summer months.

Day 3: Free day at the South Coast

Enjoy a relaxing day along the South Coast. Revisit places that have left an impression on you or opt for an adventurous activity, such as a glacier hike, exploring ice caves, or a snowmobile ride on the Mýrdalsjökull glacier.

Day 4: The Golden Circle & Borgarfjörður

Today you will travel to the world-famous Golden Circle area. Admire the powerful Gullfoss waterfall, visit the active geothermal area Haukadalur with the spouting Strokkur, and walk through the Almannagjá gorge in Þingvellir National Park, where Iceland's first parliament ever met.

Then you will continue to the peaceful valley of Borgarfjörður, surrounded by nature and geothermal springs.

Day 5: Hot springs, glaciers, and Viking history

Discover the highlights of the Borgarfjörður region today. Visit the historic town of Reykholt, the most powerful hot spring in Europe Deildartunguhver, and the mysterious waterfalls Hraunfossar and Barnafoss.

Optional, you can relax at the Krauma Spa or participate in the impressive excursion Into the Glacier: in a special vehicle, you will drive onto the Langjökull glacier and enter a 600-meter-long tunnel in the heart of the ice.

Day 6: Snæfellsnes: Iceland in miniature

Today you explore the enchanting Snæfellsnes Peninsula, also known as 'Iceland in a nutshell.' Admire the glacier-covered volcano Snæfellsjökull, which features prominently in Jules Verne’s novel Journey to the Center of the Earth, and enjoy the varied landscape with fishing villages, lava fields, cliffs, and deserted beaches.

Optionally, you can visit the Bjarnarhöfn shark farm or join a whale safari from Ólafsvík or Grundarfjörður.

Day 7: Relaxing in Reykjavík

You drive back to Reykjavík, where you have the afternoon free to explore. Discover the colorful capital of Iceland: visit the futuristic Harpa concert hall, walk along the

harbor or enjoy the view from Hallgrímskirkja. Conclude your trip with relaxation in a geothermal bath, such as the Sky Lagoon or a local swimming pool.

Overnight: Canopy by Hilton – Reykjavík

Day 8: Departure

Enjoy a peaceful breakfast. If you are traveling with a private guide, you will be taken to Keflavík Airport. If you are traveling independently, make sure to depart on time for the trip to the airport and to return your rental car.
