Hotel Information

Accommodation

The resort features 7 spacious Beach Villas, hidden in the jungle of the island and surrounded by lush tropical gardens. Thanks to their secluded location, they offer plenty of privacy while providing direct access to the beautiful beach and ocean. The 51 Overwater Reserve and Retreat Villas are divided between a North and a South Jetty. From the spacious terrace, you can dive straight into the lagoon. Whether you prefer to stay on the beach or in the lagoon, both options range from 1 to 4 bedrooms and make this resort an ideal choice for couples, families, or larger groups.

The villas at Soneva Jani are considered one of the largest luxury accommodations in the Maldives. Lastly, there is an exclusive Island Villa with 4 bedrooms and a whopping 1,424 m² of space. All villas are equipped with a private pool and butler service. The Water Villas feature a sliding roof, allowing you to stargaze from bed in the evening, and a slide to slide directly into the stunning lagoon. Villas with 3 or 4 bedrooms have their own fitness room. In the bathroom, partly open-air, you can enjoy a rainforest shower in the garden or relax in the sunken bathtub.

Restaurants

The Gathering forms the beating heart of Soneva Jani, with the highlight being the complimentary chocolate, ice cream, cheese, and charcuterie salons. The dining options are as diverse as they are impressive, offering a tempting array of culinary delights spread throughout the entire resort.

CNN has named The Crab Shack the most romantic restaurant in the world. As the name suggests, crab is of course on the menu. At So Wild by Diana Von Cranach, you can dine in the resort’s vegetable garden, where you will be treated to a refined 'plant-based' menu, straight from the garden you are in. In the same garden is So Local, where Swedish chef Mathias Dahlgren presents a menu of street food of plant-based origin. The same chef also delights you at Overseas with the best fresh fish straight from the water.

On the second floor of The Gathering, you will find Asian Kitchen, serving dumplings, Thai street food, and Indonesian bites. The Floating Kitchen offers an ever-changing lineup of Michelin-starred guest chefs. At So Primitive, you dine around the fire pit on the beach and get to know various open-fire cooking techniques. There are also four dining tables at the observatory, and at Cinema Paradiso, there is The Directors Cut with sashimi and other Japanese favorites. In addition to all this, the resort offers various "dining by design" options, including Guess Who's Cooking, where the menu remains a secret. Besides several bars, there is also a wine tasting room and cellar.

You can also take full advantage of exclusive dinners, lectures, and special sessions with visiting experts as part of the Soneva Stars calendar.

Spa / Wellness

Relax and unwind at the serene Soneva Soul Spa, spread across two locations within the resort: one above the water and the other hidden among the greenery on the island, each with its own unique atmosphere. Enjoy transformative health and wellness experiences. Rejuvenate and renew with luxurious rituals at the Overwater Spa, or explore elevated walkways that wind through the treetops at the Island Spa. The latter features relaxation areas, consultation rooms, and suites dedicated to ultra-modern integrative wellness. The yoga pavilion and meditation platform are situated high above the trees, offering panoramic views of the sparkling turquoise lagoon, while treatment rooms in the open air are bathed in the soothing sounds of the waves.

Diving / Water Sports

Discover dolphins during a sunset cruise or plant corals with a marine biologist. Listen along with a Bose Bluetooth headset, knowing that you are contributing to the protection of nesting turtles. The resort hosts a turtle center (Olive Ridley Project) and a marine biology center. In addition to numerous water sports activities such as eco-friendly surfing and organized snorkeling excursions, you can explore the best reefs of the atoll with experienced dive instructors. The Soleni PADI diving school offers opportunities for world-class diving.

Activities

The resort offers numerous enjoyable activities, including nature walks, picnics, tennis and padel, or cycling tours around the island. Afterwards, relax with a movie in the iconic silent Cinema Paradiso, suspended above the water. There is also an observatory, a boutique, and an art gallery. Each villa is equipped with its own bicycle. Participate in a cooking class and discover the extensive Jungle Gym, furnished with all the equipment you need for a good workout.

Child-friendly

The Den is the ultimate sanctuary for children, where they can participate in activities on and around the island through play. A diverse range of programs are continuously offered, featuring activities and experiences to entertain children of all ages, from ziplining through a waterfall to a DJ booth, along with many other unique adventures. Teenagers have access to the Soneva Academy, where courses are offered, such as classes on the underwater life of the Maldives. For toddlers, there are calming spaces, while separate areas are available for music, Lego, dressing up, and creativity. Even for teenagers, there is a hidden meeting spot and a large swimming pool with a slide and other amenities.
