Dining in Bridgetown – Charming Neighborhood: Baxter’s Road

Baxter’s Road, also known as the "Fish Fry strip" of Bridgetown, is a lively neighborhood that comes to life in the evening with the aroma of grilled fish, music, and local conviviality. Here, you can enjoy authentic Bajan dishes such as flying fish, macaroni pie, and jerk chicken – often freshly grilled and served at simple streetside tables. The atmosphere is relaxed, local, and particularly charming. An excellent choice if you want to truly taste what Barbados has to offer.

Shopping in Bridgetown – Broad Street & Pelican Village

For those who enjoy shopping, there are several attractive spots in Bridgetown:

Broad Street – the main street of Bridgetown and the commercial heart of the city. Here you will find international stores such as duty-free jewelers, perfumeries, clothing shops, banks, and department stores.
Swan Street – a parallel street that is a bit more local and friendly in price; perfect for those who love a more authentic and colorful shopping experience.
Pelican Craft Centre (officially: Pelican Village Craft Centre) – located slightly outside the city center, towards the harbor, this creative craft village offers shops filled with local crafts, art, wood carvings, jewelry, and rum products. Ideal for unique souvenirs and contact with local artisans.
