Capella Ubud

Ubud, Bali

Luxury Glamping Experience in the Jungle

Glamping has taken on a completely new meaning with the arrival of the unique Capella Ubud resort. Nestled on a hillside in the middle of the jungle just outside Ubud, it is designed by the renowned architect Bill Bensley. He was inspired by the early European explorers who, during their first journeys to Bali, had to camp in the jungle and embraced the adventure of the unknown.

From the moment you arrive, you are immersed in the flora and fauna of the jungle. You are surrounded by greenery and the chirping of hidden birds. Scattered within the lush landscape are various tents, as well as the 30-meter-long pool and the tents housing the restaurants, fitness area, and the magnificent spa. In the evening, enjoy a black-and-white film under the stars featuring old footage of Bali, or listen to stories from a storyteller around the campfire. You can participate in special activities or simply relax in complete privacy on your spacious terrace. Either way, a stay at Capella Ubud is an unforgettable experience.

Hotel Information

Accommodation
Built among the trees and lush foliage, the 22 luxurious and fully equipped 'glamping' tents offer a unique experience, with plenty of privacy due to their often hidden locations. The tents have a traditional Balinese character, featuring richly decorated woodwork, dark colors, and beautiful prints. Designed with a nod to the 19th century, they are equipped with all the modern technical facilities. All tents are 173m2, with a bedroom connected to a sitting area and a private saltwater swimming pool situated on the spacious outdoor terrace, seemingly floating among the trees. The bathroom is accessible both indoors and outdoors, with a rain shower and a beautiful freestanding copper bathtub. Near the heart of the resort, you will find the Terrace Tents, which, like the Rainforest Tents, are nestled among the lush foliage of the rainforest. Close to the Wos River are the adventurous River Tents, offering even more expansive views. The Keliki Valley Tents feature a larger pool and an even more untouched, panoramic view over the Keliki Valley. In addition to all this, there is also a lodge with two bedrooms in the same style as the tents.

Restaurants

The restaurants at Capella Ubud combine traditional Balinese flavors with jungle influences and freshly picked vegetables, fruits, and herbs from the resort's own garden. The all-day dining restaurant Mads Lange is housed in a tent and named after Bali’s peacekeeper, Mads Johansen Lange (the White King of Bali). The restaurant offers seasonal dishes grown sustainably in its own garden, along with fresh seafood from regional waters and meat supplied by nearby farms.

At the intimate Api Jiwa Restaurant, you sit at the chef’s bar and enjoy authentic Asian dishes, prepared live on the barbecue. Experience the relaxed atmosphere with a cocktail in hand or a healthy snack at the poolside bar The Mortar and Pestle Bar. Around the campfire, you can also enjoy camping snacks and traditional drinks while listening to exciting stories or watching a nostalgic film. At the Officers Tent, you can also enjoy a drink in the lounge or indulge in afternoon tea with canapés.

Wellness and Spa

Hidden deep in the jungle, you will find the beautiful Auriga Wellness Spa at the heart of the resort. An oasis amidst all the greenery. Here, you can enjoy customized treatments inspired by the rich wellness and healing traditions of Bali. Nature also plays a significant role here, and only organic products are used, exclusively created for Capella Ubud. The spa is equipped with three treatment rooms, but you can also choose to receive a treatment in the privacy of your villa.

In addition to this, there is a fully equipped fitness center and several sporting classes available, such as TRX and Jungle Bootcamp. There is also the option for yoga, or you can participate in one of the adventurous activities offered by the resort.

Sustainability

The commitment to sustainability is reflected in the respect for the environment and the food that stems from it. Capella Ubud has its own garden where vegetables and fruits are grown for use in the restaurants. Additionally, the bathroom and spa products are 100% organic, and the resort holds a Silver EarthCheck Certification. Built in the rainforests of Ubud, the resort makes every effort to blend seamlessly with nature and minimize its emissions. Beyond all this, the resort also has a significant positive impact on the financial situation and the community of Bali.
