Hotel Information
Accommodation
The resort is divided into two parts. In the Danu Jungle, you will find the cozy, spacious Suites, and in the Danu Retreat, the stunning Pool Villas.
In the Danu Jungle, you can opt for the Jungle Suite, which is already very spacious at 77 m² and is located on the ground floor of the duplex buildings. From the veranda, you have a view of the tropical foliage or the Jungle River pool. Alternatively, choose the even more spacious Deluxe Suite with Private Hot Tub, which features a large jacuzzi on the balcony.
The Danu Retreat offers four types of Pool Villas. The One Bedroom Pool Villa is 120 m² and includes a terrace with loungers and an infinity pool, with views of the tropical greenery. The One Bedroom Pool Villa Rice Field View, at 150 m², is even larger and offers stunning views of the rice fields. Highly recommended! The Deluxe Pool Villa is slightly larger and has a bigger infinity pool. Finally, there is the Two Bedroom Pool Villa, with two bedrooms, each with its own bathroom with a bathtub and separate shower. This villa also offers spectacular views of the rice fields from the terrace.
Restaurants
The restaurants are an important element of this resort, and a great deal of attention is paid to the dining experience. It is no surprise that the restaurants have already built an excellent reputation.
Take a seat on the terrace with sweeping views over the rice fields at the Kokokan Restaurant and enjoy gastronomic delights here. The bar offers creative freedom, serving the most extraordinary cocktails. Or head to Kelapa, the restaurant by the main pool, where you can find hamburgers, pizzas, sandwiches, salads, and refreshing drinks—perfect for a day lounging by the pool. The Kepuh restaurant also offers views of the rice fields and is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The menu features delicious Indonesian dishes.
If you spend an afternoon at the Jungle River pool, order your drink at the Lianas pool bar. For a fresh cup of Kintamani Arabica coffee, special teas, and French bread with pastries, settle into Bale Gourmet. Later in the afternoon, this transforms into a selection of alcoholic beverages and tapas-style snacks.
Wellness and Spa
For complete relaxation and to soothe all your senses, you can book a treatment at the OmTara Spa by Clarins. Fully relaxed, you can then unwind in the relaxation area with a cup of tea and a stunning view of the resort and the surroundings.
In addition to the spa, you will also find a fitness room, hammam, and Vichy shower. Yoga sessions are also held here.
Swimming pool
The resort has two swimming pools. In the heart of the resort is the main pool, offering stunning views of the rice fields. In the Danu Jungle is the Jungle River pool, which meanders like a lagoon through the tropical foliage.
Activities
The resort places great importance on sustainability. They have a permaculture garden that supplies vegetables and herbs to the on-site restaurants. Additionally, activities are organized here to introduce guests to how such a garden works, the products it yields, and where children can help care for the animals.
Furthermore, the resort offers a wide range of activities that guests can participate in for free, inspired by the senses, sustainability, and the local environment. Think of learning how to make a Balinese offering, discovering more about the medicinal drink ‘Loloh’ and learning how to prepare it, gaining insights into the ‘subak’ irrigation system of rice fields, understanding the process of Balinese coffee bean roasting, or visiting a local home to learn more about local traditions and customs. There are also special activities for children, such as a Balinese dance lesson, helping with harvest in the permaculture garden, or painting stones.
If you wish to visit Ubud, you can make use of the free shuttle. It departs five times a day to the center of Ubud and back.
Sustainability
Since its construction, sustainability has been a key focus at Kappa Senses Ubud. The resort was built using local and sustainable materials, and thermodynamic water boilers have been installed. Where possible, motion sensor lighting has been used, so that lights are not left on unnecessarily. Part of the energy is generated sustainably, among other things, with neatly concealed solar panels. This has resulted in a 30% reduction in energy consumption.
Furthermore, no single-use plastics are used, waste is separated and recycled. The permaculture garden plays an important role in the resort, providing vegetables and herbs for the restaurants, herbal products are made from the herbs, and excess food is turned into feed for animals. Lastly, the resort provides employment to local residents, and the harvest from the own garden is shared with neighboring villages.
