Hotel Information
Accommodation
The intimate Le Taha’a has only 58 villas and suites. All villas and suites ensure that you can experience the idyllic tropical surroundings to the fullest.
Among the tropical foliage of the motu, directly on the beach, are the Pool Beach Villas scattered around. With 180 m2, they offer an incredible amount of space, both inside and outside. The villa features a cozy living room that opens via large sliding doors to a spacious garden. Here, you can enjoy your plunge pool in complete privacy or dine in your gazebo. Both the living room and the bedroom provide access to a private deck with loungers, from where you have direct access to the beach and a stunning view of the turquoise lagoon. The ensuite bathroom includes a double sink and toilet indoors, and an outdoor bath and separate shower.
There is also a Premium Pool Beach Villa, which is identical to the Pool Beach Villa but more secluded at the end of the beach for increased privacy and, most notably, an unobstructed view of the crystal-clear Taha’a lagoon.
Families with older children can opt for the more spacious Royal Pool Beach Villa of 260 m2. This villa has two bedrooms, each with a king-size bed and an ensuite bathroom. One bathroom features a plunge bath and an outdoor separate shower, while the other has a freestanding bath and an outdoor shower. Enjoy a private pool in the large garden, with loungers, and a separate terrace offering direct access to the beach.
For a unique experience of staying above the turquoise, crystal-clear lagoon, there are several overwater suites. All are 90 m2 and tastefully decorated in traditional Polynesian style. At the foot of the bed, you can admire the underwater life through a glass panel in the floor. The ensuite bathrooms are located inside and feature a bath, a separate shower, and a double sink. Most of the time, you will probably spend your time lounging on your terrace, enjoying the magnificent view. A staircase provides direct access to the lagoon.
The difference between the various overwater suites is the view. The Taha’a Overwater Suite offers views of the lush Taha’a. Choose the Taha’a Premium Overwater Suite for an unobstructed view over the lagoon towards Taha’a Island. To be in the front row for magnificent sunsets, opt for the Sunset Overwater Suite. From the terrace or the bedroom of the Bora Bora Overwater Suite, you can enjoy a stunning view of the ‘Pearl of the Pacific’: Bora Bora. For a completely unobstructed 180° view over the lagoon and Taha’a, as well as a spectacular sunrise and most privacy, select the End of Pontoon Overwater Suite, located at the ends of the piers.
Swimming pool
Le Taha’a features a freeform swimming pool surrounded by palm trees and a number of sunbeds for relaxing peacefully. Next to it is the Manuia Bar, where you can enjoy a refreshing drink or a snack.
Restaurants
At Le Taha’a, gastronomy is an important part of your stay. There are three restaurants to choose from. The main restaurant, Hawaiki Nui, is open for breakfast and dinner and is situated higher among the trees, offering a stunning view of the lagoon and the lush garden. Start your day here with a wide selection of juices, bread rolls, fruit, and hot and cold side dishes. Dinner features local and international specialties. Every Tuesday, you can enjoy a lively Polynesian show here.
In the Titiraina Restaurant, you can enjoy a delicious outdoor lunch with your feet in the sand. The menu includes colorful salads and freshly grilled fish and meat dishes. Later in the afternoon, you can visit Manuia Bar for light meals and snacks. This is the pool bar, where you will also find a wide selection of refreshing drinks.
Tipairua Restaurant is the resort’s fine dining restaurant, open from Wednesday to Sunday. The chef will delight you with creative French-Polynesian fusion dishes. The sommelier expertly pairs these dishes with the selection of wines from the cellar.
End your evening at the Tiki Bar, ‘the place to be’ for freshly prepared cocktails, many other drinks, and a delicious selection of tapas.
Have a fresh breakfast delivered to your suite by traditional outrigger canoe or use room service to dine in the privacy of your suite or villa.
Spa / Wellness
Nestled in the middle of the tropical garden, overlooking the inner lagoon of the motu and surrounded by rustling bamboo trees, lies the Tāvai Spa. Here, let yourself be transported to a world of deep relaxation. You will find a wide range of massages and body treatments, using locally made natural spa products. Most treatments use the wonderfully fragrant, sacred traditional Polynesian ‘monoi’ oil, made from ingredients such as coconut and local flowers. Be sure to try the Polynesian ‘taurumi’ massage, which is traditionally passed down from generation to generation and restores the balance and energy of body and mind.
If you want to maintain your fitness, there is a fitness room with state-of-the-art equipment. The large windows offer views of the inner lagoon for extra inspiration.
Activities
Although Taha’a is a wonderful destination to completely unwind surrounded by natural beauty, the resort also offers a variety of excursions and activities to enjoy. The resort provides free snorkel gear, stand-up paddleboards, and kayaks to explore the breathtaking lagoon. There is a free shuttle boat to Taha’a until 5:00 PM to visit the island independently.
Taha’a’s nickname is 'Vanilla Island' because one of the world's best vanilla bean varieties is grown here. A tour of a vanilla plantation is a must, where you can see how vanilla flowers are hand-pollinated and how vanilla beans are dried. You can also visit one of the two rum distilleries and taste the locally produced rum. Additionally, a visit to a pearl farm is recommended.
A great way to admire the natural beauty of Taha’a is by 4WD. This is also the perfect way to experience the highlights of the neighboring island Raiatea. Raiatea is the sacred island of the Polynesians, as it is from here that migrations to Hawaii, Easter Island, and New Zealand began. Here, you can still visit the ancient sacred marae Taputapuātea, which is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Child-friendly
Le Taha’a is a family-friendly resort. In the pool villas and suites, the sofa bed can be used as a single bed for a child. Additionally, an extra bed can be added in the pool villas for a child. The plunge pool can be made child-safe with a fence. In the Hawaiki Nui and Titiraina restaurants, children can eat for free from the kids' menus, provided they are accompanied by adults and excluding drinks. There is no kids' club.
Sustainability
The motu on which Le Taha’a is located is characterized by majestic ancient trees and is a sacred area. The resort is therefore built around the vegetation to protect nature and preserve the harmony of the motu. Algae are used to naturally fertilize the resort's gardens. The coral garden is also protected so that guests can enjoy it to the fullest, and the resort participates in projects to safeguard the coral life in the surrounding lagoons. Of course, as much as possible is done in a sustainable manner, and local communities are supported by purchasing their products.
