The Orient Jakarta, a Royal Hideaway Hotel
Escape the daily routine with a stay at the luxurious The Orient Jakarta, where everything is a bit grander and more opulent than usual, without going over the top. Responsible for this is the famous interior designer Bill Bensley, who has once again been given free rein to combine traditional Eastern charm with avant-garde design. Think oversized Batik patterns, antique decorative objects in every corner, extravagant furniture, and the use of vibrant colors. Sometimes very unique, sometimes more traditional, but always maintaining the feeling that you are in Indonesia. This hotel is not for everyone, but for enthusiasts, The Orient Jakarta has once again become a gem of a luxury hotel, with impeccable attention to detail and flawless service.
Take a dip in the semi-outdoor infinity pool, which also functions as a hydrotherapy pool, and enjoy the view over the Jakarta skyline. You can also savor this view from the Tiki Bar next to the pool, but with a refreshing cocktail or a good glass of wine in hand. Or indulge in a ‘beach vibe’ at the rooftop pool. Keep your fitness up in the state-of-the-art gym, find relaxation in the fantastic spa, and in the evening, head to one of the restaurants for a culinary treat.

What you can expect:
- Boutique hotel with a grand, unique, yet recognizable Indonesian decor
- Located centrally near shopping malls and trendy restaurants
- A semi-outdoor pool and a rooftop pool
- A wide variety of dining and drinking options
- Exceptional service

Your stay
The Orient has only 153 rooms, all with panoramic views of the city. The rooms are an essential part of the overall experience, and great attention has been paid to their furnishings and finishes. For example, the headboards of the beds are handcrafted and upholstered with traditional Batik fabrics, and the doors are painted by local artists. The lower-category rooms are beautiful, but not very spacious.
If you prefer a more spacious room, the Orient rooms are a perfect choice. The decor and furnishings are inspired by Javanese and Balinese culture, and the view over the city is enchanting. The Grand Orient is the largest and brightest room in the hotel, with floor-to-ceiling windows. Lying on your comfortable bed, you can enjoy the best view of Jakarta's skyline.

The hotel is still relatively new and is continuously developing. Currently, it does not offer standard activities. However, there is a concierge service that is happy to assist you with tourist information and arranging excursions or transportation to explore the city.
Restaurants
You do not have to leave the door for gastronomic surprises. Enjoy lunch or dinner at one of the excellent restaurants of The Orient. For example, Caspar Restaurant and Lounge offers Spanish cuisine, including an open kitchen where you can watch the chefs at work. You can sit inside in the atmospheric space or relax on the outdoor terrace. There are also several bars where you can order drinks throughout the day, from coffee to cocktails. After dinner, you can also move on to the cozy whisky bar.
Be sure to try the excellent Furusatu Izakaya Restaurant, where, as the name suggests, you can enjoy authentic Japanese dishes. The exterior of this restaurant is also designed like a traditional Japanese building.
Besides the bars mentioned earlier, you can also visit the Library Lounge throughout the day, where you can order tea, coffee, soft drinks, alcoholic beverages, and delicious snacks. On the 5th floor next to the pool, you will find the Pool Bar. Do not miss the rooftop bar Urban Beach Club. Here, you can eat, drink, lounge, swim, or dance. In short, everything a beach club normally offers, but right in the city.
Wellness and Spa
The hotel has its own spa with four treatment rooms and a selection of massages and treatments. After a day of sightseeing or a long flight, you can recharge here completely.
Swimming pool
The highlights of The Orient Jakarta include the swimming pools. On the 5th floor, there is an infinity pool, which is also partly a hydrotherapy pool. Here, you can enjoy the spectacular city view from the edge, swim some laps, or let the water jets do their work. The second pool is located on the roof, offering the best views over the city. It has a lively 'beach vibe' and is a great place to spend a few hours.
Sustainability
In the restaurants, ingredients are purchased that are cultivated sustainably. The straws in drinks are made from corn starch, produced by a local company. Used oil, glass, and waste are collected for recycling. An energy-efficient air conditioning system has been chosen to save electricity. Finally, a new sustainability team has been established to further improve the hotel's sustainability.
