About Bolton Hotel
Located on the edge of downtown Wellington, in the business district and next to a park, is the elegant Bolton Hotel. This boutique hotel offers a stylish and comfortable stay, with a high level of service. Nearby, there are several restaurants and cafés, and it is less than a fifteen-minute walk to Wellington Harbour.
However, for a culinary treat or simply a good cup of coffee, you don't need to leave the hotel, as Bolton Hotel features a top-notch restaurant, Artisan, and there is also a café & bar for snacks and drinks in between.
The hotel’s suites are actually like small apartments, with plenty of space and all the amenities you need. The hotel also offers a small swimming pool and a fitness room to start or end your day actively. But Wellington is a vibrant city where life mainly happens outside, so you are likely to spend most of your time out and about.

What you can expect:
- Charming boutique hotel where service is a top priority
- Spacious suites that are very fully equipped
- Excellent restaurant
- Within walking distance of Wellington Harbor

Hotel Information
Accommodation
The Bolton Hotel offers both studios and suites. The studios are between 26-35 m2, which is not very spacious, so we mainly recommend the suites. The Classic Suite is 50 m2 and features a bedroom with a separate living room, both with LED TV. There is an equipped kitchen with a washer/dryer combo. The suite also offers a minibar stocked with local products (for a fee), coffee/tea making facilities, Wi-Fi, and the use of an iPad mini. The bathroom includes a bathtub and a separate shower. You will have everything you need for a comfortable stay.
If you are traveling with your family, choose the Premier Twin Suite of 54 m2. The bedroom has two queen-size beds, and this suite offers views of the Thorndon Hills and the park. The bathroom only has a shower. Or opt for the Two Bedroom Bolton Suite of 72 m2, with a king-size bed in the master bedroom and an ensuite bathroom with a bathtub and separate shower. The second bedroom has either a king-size bed or two single beds (your choice) with an ensuite bathroom with a shower.
The top suite is the Residence Suite, the penthouse of the hotel. This 170 m2 suite offers a master bedroom with a king-size bed, conservatory, walk-in closet, and an ensuite bathroom with a Jacuzzi tub and a separate shower. The second bedroom features a king-size bed or two single beds and an ensuite bathroom with a bathtub and a separate shower. Additionally, you will enjoy a very spacious living room, with a large dining table and a fully equipped kitchen, as well as a balcony.
Restaurants
The Artisan restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Here, you will find delicious dishes made from seasonal produce from our own country. You can treat yourself further by booking a delightful high tea. During the week, you can enjoy a fresh barista coffee and a variety of small treats at the Lobby Café.
Activities
Through the iPad mini in your suite, you can order room service, select a pillow from the pillow menu, or find tips about the city. Or make use of the wellness app, which can help you relax and sleep better. Here, you will find short or longer meditation and sound healing sessions, among other options.
Although the hotel is located in the city’s business district, many attractions are within walking distance. Think of The Beehive (the Parliament building), which is about a 4-minute walk away, as well as one of the main shopping areas. The Wellington Cable Car is approximately a 9-minute walk and takes you to the suburb of Kelburn atop the hill. Here, you not only enjoy a panoramic view of the city, but it is also a lovely neighborhood to explore on foot. Walk back down through one of New Zealand’s oldest botanical gardens.
The hotel is also ready to assist you with plenty of tips for sights and activities in the city. Whether you're looking for a romantic restaurant or something fun to do with children, be sure to ask the hotel staff or consult the guide on the mini iPad in your suite.
Swimming pool
Start the day actively in the fitness room and then relax in the small pool or in the sauna. There is also a hot tub to unwind completely in the warm water.
Good to know
If you are traveling with a rental car, book the valet parking at the hotel so you don't have to worry about parking or the car during your stay.
Sustainability
Bolton Hotel is working hard to become more sustainable. They recycle extensively and use a green energy provider. All lighting has now been switched to LED, and all new lighting is as energy-efficient as possible. All toilets are water-saving. All used oil from the restaurant is recycled, and all organic waste is composted. In the rooms, the air conditioning is linked to the guests' stay: if no guest is staying in the room, the air conditioning is turned off.
