About Arusha Coffee Lodge
After a long flight, there is nothing better than coming home to Arusha Coffee Lodge. Nestled within a vast coffee plantation on the outskirts of Arusha, at the foot of the rugged Mount Meru, it offers a warm welcome. It is one of the oldest coffee plantations in Tanzania, and the lodge is built around the historic former estate owner's house. The coffee theme is present throughout, in the details, the tranquil tones, and of course in the aroma of excellent coffee.
Scattered throughout the garden are the rooms and suites, each in its own cottage inspired by the former plantation houses. They are tastefully furnished to make you feel at home quickly. Enjoy the surrounding garden from your terrace, or create a romantic evening if it gets cool enough outside to light the fireplace.
The historic plantation house, around which this lodge is built, is part of the lodge and still in use. Here, you are welcomed upon arrival, and it is also home to the fine dining restaurant, The Grill Room. You can enjoy a delicious dinner with a view of the pool. Wine lovers will delight in the extensive wine list.

Impression
Your Stay
For your stay, you can choose between a Plantage room or suite. Both are located in cottages scattered throughout the garden and are inspired by the former plantation houses. They are modern yet cozy inside, providing a true feeling of home. The Plantation rooms offer a terrace with views of the aromatic coffee trees. Inside, you will find a seating area and a delightful fireplace for cooler evenings.
The Plantation suite is highly recommended. These suites are much more spacious and feature not only a lovely terrace but also a separate screened terrace for added privacy. Here, you can enjoy a romantic evening by the outdoor fireplace. Additionally, the suite offers numerous extras, such as a TV, a stocked minibar, and concierge service for room service, ensuring you lack nothing during your stay.
Experiences
The lodge offers a selection of experiences, allowing you to explore not only the immediate surroundings of the lodge but also the broader area. This is ideal if, for example, you are only staying briefly in Arusha on your way to Zanzibar. 'From Bean to Coffee' Plantation Tour
Since you are staying right in the middle of a coffee plantation, it is quite fascinating to see how the coffee bean grows and is eventually processed into coffee. The tour takes place right at the lodge itself, and your guide will take you to the coffee plants to explain how the bean grows, is harvested, and roasted to create a variety of different flavor profiles.
Arusha National Park
If you have a full day at your disposal, you can choose to visit Arusha National Park. The national park, located at the foot of Mount Meru, is just a 40-minute drive from Arusha. The park offers a variety of landscapes and wildlife, including black-and-white colobus monkeys. What makes this park unique is that you are not confined to a safari vehicle, but have the option to go on a walking safari with a ranger.

The small-scale Arusha Coffee Lodge features 18 Plantation rooms and 12 Plantation suites, all spread out within the garden. The Plantation rooms are 45 m2 and include a terrace with a seating area and garden views. All rooms have a sitting area with an open fireplace, and on a raised platform, a four-poster bed with a mosquito net. The ensuite bathroom includes a bathtub, a separate shower, and double sinks.
The Plantation suite is a wonderfully spacious 58 m2 suite. The suite not only has a terrace with a seating area and garden views, but also an additional secluded terrace with an outdoor fireplace for more privacy. Furthermore, the suite offers numerous extras, such as a TV and a stocked minibar, along with a concierge service for room service, ensuring you lack nothing during your stay.
Restaurants
At The Bistro, you can enjoy breakfast, lunch, and dinner. You can dine indoors or outside on the garden terrace. The restaurant offers an extensive and diverse menu with dishes prepared using fresh, local ingredients. There is a pizza oven, so you can order freshly baked oven pizzas here. You will also find the bar here. For an elaborate fine dining experience, head to The Grill Room, where delicious international dishes are prepared with local ingredients. Here, you will also find an excellent, extensive wine list.
Kahawa is located at The Bistro. In this coffee shop, you can enjoy delicious fresh coffee, cookies, and pastries. If you want to try the local cuisine, dine at Jikoni. Here, you will experience Swahili cuisine, often accompanied by live music. Unfortunately, this restaurant is not open year-round, and reservations are a must.

Next to the swimming pool, you will find the Peaberries Spa. Choose from a variety of treatments and fully relax.
