Your Stay
This small-scale lodge features only 10 cottages. The difference between the cottages lies in the number of bedrooms, and thus the size of the cottage. All cottages offer plenty of space and are decorated in light earthy tones in a modern Tanzanian style. Spend time on the terrace and in your infinity plunge pool to peacefully enjoy the expansive views over the Serengeti plains. Inside the cottage, you will find a spacious separate living room with the bedroom(s) adjacent. All bedrooms have an ensuite bathroom with a freestanding bathtub and a separate shower.
You will be staying here on an all-inclusive basis.

Serengeti Balloon Safari
A hot air balloon ride over the magical Serengeti is on many people's bucket list. It is truly special to rent an exclusive hot air balloon for your travel group. This can be arranged at Singita Sasakwa Lodge, and it is recommended to book this in advance. Early in the morning, you will be taken to the launch site and warmly welcomed as you watch the balloon being filled with air. Then, it is time to take to the skies, just in time to see the sunrise that illuminates the Serengeti in a spectacular array of colors. The hot air balloon is gently carried by the wind as you observe the undisturbed wildlife below, going about their daily activities.

Not only is it a completely different experience than a game drive, but it is also not possible or permitted everywhere. For young children, a variety of activities are organized, such as mini-cooking workshops, a mini-rangers lesson, bird watching, and more.
Good to know
The Grumeti Reserve is often called the hidden gem of the Serengeti because it is located on the beautiful, remote, and secluded western side. Due to its remoteness and the limited number of luxury, small-scale lodges, there are few other guests, making a safari here an exclusive experience. Also unique: since Grumeti is a separate reserve, safari walking excursions are permitted here.
Sustainability
This lodge is located in the Grumeti Game Reserve, directly adjacent to the Serengeti National Park. In 1994, the government established this reserve to protect the route of the annual Great Migration. In 2002, the owners of the Singita lodges took over the management of this land, which had been heavily damaged by hunting and poaching. They have invested a significant amount of money, time, and effort to restore both the natural environment and the wildlife. They are even currently working to reintroduce rhinoceroses. The area is also renowned for the large groups of lions that live here together.
To manage the Grumeti Game Reserve as effectively as possible, the lodge owners established the Singita Grumeti Fund. They have, among other initiatives, a team of 120 rangers dedicated to preventing hunting and poaching in the reserve. As a guest, you have the opportunity to visit one of the watchtowers and learn more about this important work. The fund runs various projects to protect the nature and the animals.
