Night Climb of Mount Ijen
An unforgettable experience for the adventurous traveler! In the middle of the night, you depart by jeep to the foot of Mount Ijen, one of Java's natural wonders. A climb of about an hour and a half takes you to the crater rim, where a spectacular view awaits over the world's largest sulfur lake. With a bit of luck, you may see the blue flames, a unique natural phenomenon. If you wish to climb all the way to the summit, it is just another hour further. From the top, you can enjoy a stunning sunrise, during which the surroundings are painted in an incredible palette of colors, silhouetted by the crater and valleys. You will return to the hotel in time for breakfast.
Safari in Baluran National Park
One of the best places in Indonesia to experience an authentic Indonesian safari. Baluran National Park consists of vast savannahs and, during the dry season, even a desert-like landscape. Here, a variety of wildlife can be spotted during your safari, including the Javan water buffalo and Javan deer. You will also see a wide range of birds, such as colorful hornbills and even peacocks. From the observation tower, you will have a fantastic view over the savannah. On the way to Bama Beach, you pass through a rainforest that seems to come straight out of the dinosaur era.
