Etosha is a national park in northern Namibia and one of Africa's largest game reserves. Etosha means "large white place" in the local Oshiwambo language, referring to the vast salt pan within the park. The park covers an area of approximately 22,000 km² and is home to more than 100 species of mammals, including the Big Four – elephants, lions, leopards, and rhinoceroses. Only the buffalo is missing to complete the Big 5.
Etosha features several waterholes scattered throughout the park, where wild animals often come to drink and bathe. This provides excellent opportunities for wildlife spotting.
