Milford Sound is a true gift of nature, nestled in the heart of Fiordland National Park. It is a majestic fjord with towering cliffs, where numerous waterfalls cascade down, surrounded by lush flora and fauna, and an awe-inspiring landscape to behold. You now have the opportunity to admire a part of this stunning national park from above before zooming in on Milford Sound and experiencing it with all your senses during a magnificent cruise.
You will be picked up from your accommodation in Queenstown. The pilot will first tell you about the route and the highlights of the day. During the flight, you will see Skippers Canyon, several locations used in the Lord of the Rings and Hobbit trilogies, and the breathtaking Dune Glacier. Once at Milford Sound, you will fly over it first to admire it from above before landing.
With the pilot, you will take a short walk to the harbor from where your boat departs. On the catamaran ‘Spirit of Milford’, you will cruise through the stunning water landscape. Naturalist guides onboard will provide personal insights throughout the cruise. You will sail along the edge of the fjord and sometimes close to the cliffs to admire the flora and fauna in detail. You will also get a very close view of the Stirling Waterfall.
After the cruise, you will walk back to the aircraft for the return flight to Queenstown via a different route. From above, enjoy the serene alpine lakes and waterfalls that Fiordland National Park is famous for. For example, the Sutherland Falls, which drop an impressive 580 meters. Enjoy the ever-changing landscape beneath you until you land back in Queenstown.

Return transfer from your hotel in downtown Queenstown to the airport and vice versa, return sightseeing flight from Queenstown to Milford Sound and vice versa, Milford Sound Nature Cruise on the 'Spirit of Milford' catamaran, complimentary coffee and tea onboard the catamaran. If departing in the late morning, a picnic lunch is included onboard the catamaran.
