The lifeline of this park is formed by the Tarangire River, which provides essential water for the animals, especially during the dry season. The landscape is relatively lush and is dotted with the remarkable, enormous baobab trees, which can live up to 600 years and hold hundreds of liters of water.
The wildlife also includes some unique species. Keep an eye on the trees during your safari to spot the mighty leopard or the king of the animals. This is one of the few places in the world where lions enjoy lounging in the trees, relaxing on sturdy branches. Equally distinctive are the large herds of elephants that roam here as a big family.
From June to November, the Great Migration takes place here, with animals moving towards the Tarangire River in the northern part of the park. Bird enthusiasts will be delighted by the over 550 species that inhabit this area. The northern wetlands, in particular, are a true bird paradise.
